He holds two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay, including a B.B.A. in Finance and a B.B.A. in Accounting, along with a Master of Professional Accountancy from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater. Before becoming a firm owner, Matt developed extensive experience across government, corporate, and private-sector accounting environments. He began his career as a legislative auditor with the Legislative Audit Bureau, the independent organization responsible for auditing the State of Wisconsin. He later transitioned into local government accounting before moving into financial reporting, consolidations, and corporate finance roles with Fortune 500 companies and private manufacturers generating billions in revenue. His background as a finance manager and corporate accountant gives him a unique perspective on the challenges business owners face when managing growth, profitability, and financial operations.
Matt specializes in accounting and business advising, accounting system implementations, financial record reviews and cleanup, business tax planning, and business tax return preparation. He is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP), reflecting his ongoing commitment to professional standards and continuing education. Matt’s passion for accounting began at an early age while helping his father, who served as treasurer for a local National Association of Letter Carriers Union, reconcile accounts and record transactions.
